Subscription Box Unboxing – May Illumicrate

Subscription Box Unboxing – May Illumicrate

book box, Book Talk, Review, Teen/YA

Over the next few months we want to share with you the current offerings in the UK of Book subscription boxes.

This month I received three Fairyloot, Book Club book and Illumicrate.

It was the first time I had received any of these boxes and in all honesty I was so excited to get them open I forget about taking photos for the first two.

But luckily the last to be received was the Illumicrate… which I now Share.

Just a little warning to those who haven’t opened the May box.

So my wonderfully heavy box which is a quarterly subscription box arrived on a rather damp day , so the box was a little worse for wear but its contents arrive beautifully presented.

The Second lid keeping everything safe and protected, with the bright yellow raffia and the Spoiler card with all the details of the included items.

I peeled back the lid with excitement to find a mixture of beautifully bookish items , along with two brand new books.

I also picked up on a wonderful aroma , I started to slowly remove the layers of goodies, the first two wonderful pieces were an Enchanted Door Hanger and print an Exclusive to the box With Artwork By TJ Lubrano

I am happy to say these now both adorn my shelf and wardrobe door in my bedroom and will make a great addition to my gallery wall when it’s up.

The second item to grab my attention was a mug, Fan art of a recently discovered YA Series.

Another Exclusive to the box Artwork By Merwild was a Feyre Character Mug , capturing perfectly how I envisaged her at different stages in the series. I am worried about breaking the wonderful mug so it is going to serve as a pen cup on my desk so I can admire it.

Next I found the source of the smell , which was a surprisingly large-sized candle , another Exclusive it was a Mermaid Lagoon Candle by Flickerink , the fragrance tropical but not overpowering at all. I do find some candles to be a bit too much but this a was delicate.

They had really crammed lots of goodies into this box, next was a corner bookmark made with patterned Map paper By Penguin Co a nice example of origami… both Anne and I received different bookmarks and of course we both decided we like each others more so we are going to do a swap when we meet next .

So lastly on the list of things specifically included (There are more Extras to come)

This is one for the Harry potter fans, A Swish and Flick Key chain made by Nutmeg and Arlo, the photo really doesn’t do this justice as it is really glittery and the colour is amazing.

The Feature book was Truth or Dare By Non Pratt

Looks like a very interesting book which can be started from either side, I am very excited to read it and will be in my ever-increasing TBR pile for June

We also received a copy of The Waking Land By Callie Bates this was a special ARC copy and came with an author letter which was a nice introduction.

I show a full photo of everything below also received some beautiful postcards from Taste of Blue Light, A Badge from The Gender Games and A poster from Windfall.

I did have some issue with the delivery but this was dealt with really quickly with an email response back within an hour of raising my concerns.

So my conclusion is that I loved this box, all the goodies were of high quality , you got lots of exclusive items and a good amount of promotionaly items also.  Also for thoses not able to afford a monthly splurge on such boxes this one is done quartley so much more affordable for thos on a budget.
